Fillers are a great non-surgical cosmetic procedure that deliver immediate and natural results lasting anywhere from 4-24 months. At our San Antonio office, Prime Vitality offers minimally invasive injectable treatments that target specific areas of the face, such as the cheeks, lips, jawline, and under the eyes, to give you a more youthful and radiant look. Some specific problem areas that can be improved with dermal fillers include smile lines, vertical lip lines, marionette lines, and chin wrinkles. Say goodbye to wrinkles and acne scars and hello to stunning results with our facial filler treatments.

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments used to reduce wrinkles and restore volume in the face. These non-surgical treatments can address a range of concerns, from filling in fine lines and wrinkles to plumping up the lips and cheeks. The fillers are made from various materials, like hyaluronic acid and/or other bio-stimulatory materials (calcium hydroxylapatite as in Radiesse, Poly-L-lactic acid as in Sculptra). At Prime Vitality we carry wide range of FDA approved hyaluronic acid dermal fillers (like Juvederm, Restylane, Versa, and RH) and bio-stimulatory fillers like Radiesse and Sculptra.

Prime Vitality also uses a variety of dermal filler brands including FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal fillers like Juvederm, Restylane, and RH which provide the following additional benefits:

  • Biocompatible
  • non-antigenic
  • non-pyrogenic
  • non-inflammatory
  • non-toxic
  • No animal products
  • Stable after injection
  • Non-migratory

We also carry Radiesse, which is a non-hyaluronic acid dermal filler made of calcium hydroxylapatite which stimulates new collagen in tissue. Radiesse is limited to certain problem areas, but is typically longer lasting.

Another dermal filler we carry is Sculptra, which is an injectable cosmetic filler made of Poly-L-Lactic acid, a biocompatible synthetic substance that stimulates collagen production.

Not sure which type of filler is best for you? During a consultation, Dr. G will go over the different types of fillers best suited for problem areas you’d like to address.

Dermal fillers offer several benefits for those seeking to rejuvenate their appearance:

  • They are minimally invasive, meaning they require no incisions or general anesthesia, and can be performed quickly in an office setting.
  • Fillers are also customizable, allowing for precise sculpting and contouring of the face.
  • Results are immediate and can last for several months or even up to a year, depending on the type of filler used.

Dermal fillers can last anywhere from 4-24 months.

Dermal fillers work by injecting a gel-like substance into the skin replace lost natural hyaluronic acid and add volume to treated areas. Depending on the type of filler used, the substance may be made from hyaluronic acid or bio-stimulatory materials. The filler is injected using a fine needle or cannula into targeted areas of the face, where it can smooth out lines, plump up cheeks or lips, and enhance facial features. Bio-Stimulatory materials will also stimulate your own collagen and elastin production.

Results from dermal fillers can vary depending on the type of filler used, the amount injected, and the location on the face. In general, fillers can help to smooth out wrinkles and fine lines, add volume to areas like the cheeks and lips, and contour the face for a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance. Results are typically visible immediately after the treatment and you can expect to see the full correction within 7-14 days. Dermal fillers can last for several months or even up to a year.

Before your dermal filler treatment, it is recommended that you avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin and fish oil. You should also avoid alcohol for several days before the procedure, as it can increase the risk of bruising. Be sure to inform your provider of any allergies or medical conditions you have, and follow their instructions for preparing for the treatment.

During the dermal filler procedure, the provider will first cleanse the treatment area and may apply a topical numbing cream to minimize discomfort. The filler will then be injected using a fine needle or cannula into the targeted areas of the face. The procedure typically takes 30-60 minutes, depending on the number of areas being treated.

Recovery from a dermal filler procedure is typically minimal, with most patients able to resume their daily activities immediately after the treatment. You may experience some swelling, bruising, or redness at the injection site, but these side effects should subside within a few days.

Although dermal fillers are generally safe, there are some risks associated with the treatment. These can include swelling, bruising, redness, and infection at the injection site, as well as more serious complications such as allergic reactions and skin necrosis. It is important to choose a trained and experienced provider like Dr. G to minimize the risks of complications.

Yes, you can receive dermal fillers the same day you receive other injectable treatments.

Dermal filler recovery time may vary. While not everyone will bruise, there may be some swelling and bruising at the injection site that can last up to two weeks. We do not recommend scheduling dermal filler appointments around major events due to the possibility of bruising.

The cost of dermal fillers can vary depending on the type of filler used, the amount injected, treatment area and the expertise and experience of the medical professional. In general, fillers can cost anywhere from a few hundred dollars onwards per treatment. You will discuss the cost of your treatment with your provider before the procedure.
